C Implementation actions

C4 CROLIS database & service implementation

The objective of this activity is to implement a physical database of all relevant LC and LU datasets acquired and needed in the project and to provide them to all partners using a service-based access. Monitoring activities will be harmonized and efficiently coordinated and the results will be available for the requirements of different Croatian ministries and subordinated institutions. It will also facilitate data exchange with international institutions and the European Commission. A further objective is to develop a harmonized validation process for the products according to a scientifically sound validation plan.

For accessing the project services, a joint access point is important. According to the INSPIRE principles, the original data will still be kept and maintained within the providing institutions, but access should be open according to agreed standards for using web services. For those data that are new and produced within the project phase, a physical database has to be developed. For the service-based access point, existing INSPIRE related Spatial Data Infrastructures (SDIs) and their related services will be used.
