\n\tOn December 10th and 11th, 2024, the joint 5th meeting of the LIFE CROLIS project’s Advisory Board and the first meeting and workshop for fine-tuning the CROLIS data concept and model from project activity C1 was held, with the participation of three experts from Poland, Slovenia, and Germany.<\/p><\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\n\tThe fifth meeting of the Advisory Board of the LIFE CROLIS project was held on 10th and 11th December 2024. The meeting brought together representatives of project partners and members of the Advisory Board, along with three additional EU experts in the field of land monitoring, who reviewed the activities carried out on the project over the two days and provided guidance and examples for the implementation of the remaining project activities.<\/p><\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n\n

\n\t

\n\tOn the first day of the meeting, the project manager, Domagoj Stjepan Krnjak, gave a brief overview of the current state of the project. Then, the EU experts in the field of land monitoring, Ms. Agato Hoscilo (Poland), Marko Kova\u010d (Slovenia), and Stephan Arnold (Germany), introduced themselves to the attendees.<\/p><\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n\n

\n\t\t\t\n
\n\t

\n\tMs. Delfa Rado\u0161 from EKONERG Ltd. presented the work on defining land cover in the historical period from 1968 onwards, and the first research results on test areas were presented by Sara Ba\u010dekovi\u0107.<\/p><\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n\n

\n\t\t\t\n
\n\t

\n\tMr. Marko Kova\u010d shared his long-term experience working at the Slovenian Forestry Institute in a lecture on the factors to be considered in developing a national land monitoring system.<\/p><\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n\n

\n\t\t\t\n
\n\t

\n\tMs. Marina Kukavica then presented new approaches to defining changes in land cover prepared by EKONERG Ltd.<\/p><\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n\n

\n\t

\n\tThe most interesting lecture on the first day was focused on defining a statistically representative sample for the historical period of monitoring changes in land cover, given by Prof Vanja Wagner PhD from the Faculty of Science in Zagreb and a member of the Croatian Association for Applied and Industrial Mathematics CRO-MATH-IN.<\/p><\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n\n

\n\t

\n\tThe first day of the meeting concluded with an example of using CROLIS by-products for other projects, presented by Croatian Forests Ltd. and Mr. Vladimir Grgesina. After each block of presentations, short discussions were held on the presented topics.<\/p><\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n\n

\n\tThe second day of the meeting began with a brief presentation by Prof. Mario Miler PhD from the Faculty of Geodesy in Zagreb on the possibilities of land classification based on a sample image grid.<\/p><\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n\n

\n\t\t\n\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\n
\n\t

\n\tThen, Tomislav Ciceli presented the created nDSM at the State Geodetic Administration as the first product of LIDAR scanning in Croatia and a new product available to the public, developed within the LIFE CROLIS project.<\/p><\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n\n

\n\t

\n\tIn the continuation of the second day, Ms. Agata Hoscilo from the Polish National Centre for Emissions Management, Institute of Environmental Protection \u2013 NRI, presented Land Monitoring in LULUCF Reporting on the example of Poland.<\/p><\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n\n

\n\tMr. Gebhard Banko from Environment Agency Austria presented sources of historical data on land use and land monitoring data sources in Austria that are available to the public.<\/p><\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n\n

\n\t

\n\tProgress and updates in the development of the EAGLE concept as a supportive mechanism for semantic analysis and comparability of  LC \/ LU input data for national reporting were presented by expert group member Mr. Stephan Arnold from Germany.<\/p><\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n\n

\n\tThe work of the Paying Agency in Agriculture, Fisheries, and Rural Development was presented by Mr. Mladen Majcen with an Overview of PAAFRD’s activities before and after the extension of the LIFE CROLIS project, and Mr. Dario Pere\u0161in, who presented the results of the pilot project and insights into the software development project assignment.<\/p><\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n\n
